Natural High Blood Pressure Remedies – Diet And Exercise

Diet and exercise probably without a doubt when combined together is one of the most powerful natural high blood pressure remedies that we have available to us to use at any time we choose to do so. Its effectiveness is not only limited to the treatment to help lower blood pressure but it also can help to prevent it and other health risks such as heart disease, diabetes, and stroke. Now the type of foods you should be eating and the type of physical activity you should be doing depends on whether you are treating high blood pressure or just trying to prevent it. In my own personal opinion there isn’t really a lot of variables in the treatment and prevention of high blood pressure using diet and exercise but for this blog my focus will be on prevention methods that anyone can implement into their own lifestyle very simply. To begin with, start evaluating your eating habits and physical activity. You need to eat a healthy diet that is rich in whole grains, fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy products. If you are a meat eater then eat less red meat and try eating more fish and poultry. Cut down on the salt in your diet, most Americans get too much sodium, which increases their blood pressure. Sodium is found a lot in processed food products such as potatoe chips, frozen dinners, processed lunch meats, etc. Read the labels on these products and buy those that are low in sodium and have unsaturated fats. Exercising regularly is very important so if you don’t have at least 30 – 60 minutes of regular physical activity most days of the week then you need to start getting it. Develop an exercise program and stick with it. Make it something that you can do every day or every other day but do not try to squeeze it all into a weekend because this could also be risky to your health. Here are a few natural blood pressure control ideas of healthy foods to eat and exercises you can do. I mentioned earlier about cutting down on salt in your diet so try using less table salt at the dinner table or eliminate it entirely and use something else for seasoning and also try to avoid processed foods as much as possible. Eat potassium rich foods because potassium helps to lessen the effects of sodium on blood pressure and the foods that contain potassium are fruits and vegetables and some really good ones that are loaded with it are tomatoes, carrots, broccoli, sweet potatoes, bananas, grapes, apples and oranges. You get the idea, right? As for exercise, it can be as simple as just going for a brisk walk every day. Let’s say a walk around the block or even to just the end of the block and home again or if you want, you can even just do a walking in place exercise routine while standing around watching the evening news on TV. You get the idea, right? My point of all this is that these are simple enough natural high blood pressure remedies that anyone can easily do if they so choose to do so. Until The Next Blog, To Your Health.
